If you decide that you do not need to take any of the precautions that we have already talked about, might I suggest that you live off of the stock in your wine seller. That way when you die, you’ll be too drunk to care.
As for the rest of us, water is the second most important thing to life. If you decide to store up a hoard of bottled water, there are several things you must know. Each person needs approximately one gallon of water each day for drinking. You will need more for cooking and bathing and sanitary needs. Also water stored in bottles will go bad after a period of time; that’s why they put expiration dates on the bottles. The bottles will also need to be stored in a cool and dry environment.

If you don’t have the room to hoard water, you may want to consider this. Store a couple of five gallon bottles for emergencies, and revert to a method of home water treatment such as we talk about in the books. It is not difficult to treat water at home, but you must insure that you are using the proper form of treatment for the hazard. Keep focused on the fact that your families’ safety is the ultimate consideration.
